NTS at Milano Design Week 2025

At NTS, we believe that sustainable innovation is only possible through cooperation between companies, research, and local communities. That’s why we have chosen to actively participate in the European project DeremCo, which promotes the creation of new collaborative supply chains for the recovery and valorization of end-of-life composite materials.

Our participation in Milan Design Week 2025, from April 7 to 13, with the DeremCo project, has come to an end, but it leaves us with a valuable legacy: the awareness that sustainability and innovation can, and must, go hand in hand.

We saw a great turnout, with many young and very young visitors curious and interested in sustainability, design, and innovation: an encouraging sign for the future.

A special thank you to the entire DeremCo team and to our colleagues who made this event possible.

Thanks also to everyone who came to visit us: every conversation was an opportunity for growth.

The journey toward a more conscious industry continues, also thanks to moments like these. ♻️

The six places to work manufacturing roadshow lands at NTS

On 22 February we opened the doors of our company for the roadshow organised by Auxiell and Euxilia, in collaboration with Great Place to Work. An opportunity to talk about Italian excellence from the point of view of the most virtuous and brilliant corporate organisations.

This roadshow was organised to showcase six Italian excellences, touching on companies in the manufacturing sector in different parts of Italy. For us at NTS, it was a great satisfaction to be a stop on this tour together with five other virtuous companies, which have embarked on the path of growth in more efficient processes and in a corporate culture that is attentive to people, despite the competitive dynamics required in B2B, even more so in contracting.

From 16 April to 3 May, an event dedicated to students

We took part in the 2024 edition of the Bergamo Job Festival: an event that welcomed 847 students and 185 companies from 16 April to 3 May

The event, organised by Confindustria Bergamo, in collaboration with the Territorial School Office and Unimpiego, is a valuable opportunity for graduating students from technical and professional institutes with a technological orientation to meet, and to promote job placement and orientation towards ITS or university training.

More than 5,000 interviews were held between students and participating companies, including NTS.

‘The objective,’ emphasised Marco Manzoni as he opened the proceedings, “is to preserve the specificity and wealth of the Bergamo area, which owes much to its manufacturing, which is chosen by markets all over the world, but where there is a growing problem of a shortage of human resources, which strongly threatens its development. Hence the need to deploy every possible action to encourage the meeting between companies and the younger generations by offering them more awareness of the working world’.

The Stella al Merito for Work medal in NTS

On 1 May 2024, after a 38-year career at NTS, Gianluigi Benedetti, head of the Mould Design Technical Office at NTS, was awarded the honour of Maestro del Lavoro and decorated with the Star of Labour Merit by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.

An honour that for those of us who work with Gigi every day is worth even more, having had proof of his commitment and passion, values that we have also chosen to bring to our communication channels through video clips of an interview we did together. Watch them all on our social media!

NEWS SETTEMBRE 2024 - INTELLIMECH

The work of the future is being built today: this was the subject of Intellimech’s interview with NTS CEO Marco Manzoni on the subject of young people and companies.

Marco Manzoni opened the interview as follows: ‘We are faced with an epochal transformation of the scenario in which changes in the demands of companies, prompted by factors such as technological innovation and sustainability, must come to terms with imposing requirements also at a social and cultural level. Particularly in Europe and Italy, these problems take the name of demographic decline and increasing ageing of the population, which add up to new attitudes of many young people with respect to working time and the management of their own lives. One fact is certain: today’s young people are different from even the previous generation.”

He went on to talk about how the world of work and the world of higher education need a fruitful dialogue now more than ever, in which businesses and representative organisations such as Confindustria must also play a key role.

“There may be different opinions and judgments on this reality, sometimes laudatory, sometimes critical, but one cannot underestimate the changes. Businesses, just like schools, must not only consider them as priorities, but also activate proactive paths. Young people need concrete answers, as well as analyses of their identity or expectations. In this sense, Confindustria Bergamo believes it has an important role and responsibility. A first path of commitment for us in Confindustria is precisely the analytical one.
Even though no one can predict the future with certainty, it is indeed necessary to monitor and understand more and more how work is changing, just like the factory and the manufacturing world. Looking in advance at how work will change can help everyone prepare for the future in time. Just think of the increasing impact of digitisation on human resources management. For our Education team, this is a constantly growing activity that also involves entrepreneurs from all product groups. It is always evolving and being implemented, also because we transfer our research data to companies as well as to schools and universities. They are our primary interlocutors, towards whom we implement collaborative initiatives aimed first and foremost at student orientation and knowledge of the industrial world. The historical school-to-work activities have long since been replaced by new proposals and opportunities that better foster contact and dialogue between companies and students.
These initiatives, which we manage and promote, are synergistically connected to events that further develop the opportunities for young people to meet and learn about companies. An excellent example is the Bergamo Job Festival, which involves about a thousand students and 185 companies in the area, creating more than 5,000 interview moments. Also in the area of events and exhibitions, our collaborative relationship with universities, and with the University of Bergamo in particular, is very close.”

He continues, ‘A specific discourse, due to its growing and strategic importance, has our activity in the ITS sphere. It should be remembered that this type of post-diploma course is characterised precisely by strong integration with the business system in the participation in the design of the profiles, in the presence of experts from the world of work for more than 50 per cent of the teaching, and in the realisation of at least 800 training hours in apprenticeships or traineeships. Confindustria Bergamo is taking an active part in setting up a joint table of all ITSs in order to exploit synergies between the Foundations, enhance the role of enterprises and test new models for enhancing the technical-professional supply chain. We could give several other examples of the articulation of our commitment. In all the areas where we operate, however, it is clear that people are and remain an organisation’s most valuable asset. Clarity on both fronts can bring out the skills pools where there is a shortage of talent, allowing action to be taken before such a shortage becomes an obstacle to competitiveness. I would like to conclude by recalling how the PNRR devotes the whole of mission 4 to innovation processes in the education system, with a special focus on the school-business link. General guiding thread: the enhancement of the educational role of enterprises. This principle is aimed at an objective, in line with European best practices, of increasing the employability of schooling and consequently reducing the mismatch with the skills needs of enterprises. In line with these principles, as Confindustria Bergamo we are committed to helping schools, from primary school onwards, to accompany adolescents towards an informed choice of high school route that contemplates not only the discovery of their aptitudes, but also prospects in terms of future professional outlets. The prevailing theme is to provide a broad picture of the changing labour market and industry itself. For many young people, this information results in a pleasant discovery, realising how industry and factory are very different from what they had imagined.”

Polymer Valley – The date of 28 September 2024

Polymer Valley

The digital and energy transition are inseparable from each other and will drive the future of industry, but what does this mean and what can we do to be an active part of this change?

Last 28 September, we held the Polymer Valley open door event where we highlighted the importance of combining innovation and sustainability, enhancing the territory for a greener tomorrow. The Polymer Valley events were created by the Confindustria Bergamo association and the rubber and plastics group with the intention of spreading business culture in the area. The initiatives aim to open companies to the public in order to promote their attractiveness in generating value and growth for the territory, especially to new talents who often do not know them.

This is why it is important to continue promoting these events and, with a view to the future, it will be increasingly important to involve other strategic sectors in our territory.

Vanotti cycle team

Champions are distinguished both by their victories and by the values they embody. How can we help young people to become champions in life?

At NTS, we believe that the true value of sport lies in its ability to shape people, even before athletes. Our partnership with the Vanotti Cycle Team is not limited to supporting sporting talent, but embraces an educational mission: to turn young people into “athletes within” for life.

Thanks to the work of Alessandro Vanotti and his team, youngsters learn to cultivate values such as discipline, responsibility and resourcefulness. These principles not only help them to excel in sport, but are the antibodies they need to face an increasingly complex world with strength and awareness. No matter how likely they are to become professional champions, every young person who participates in this project takes with them lessons that will be fundamental in every profession and at every stage of life.

ilsole24ore

From the article on page 15 of IlSole24Ore of 18/01/25 we share an excerpt of an interview with our CEO Marco Manzoni and Vice-President of Confindustria Bergamo with responsibility for Education.

In an ever-changing world, the future of enterprises also passes through technical training, which proves to be a strategic bridge between young people and enterprises.

As Marco Manzoni emphasised in the interview: ‘The new 4+2 technical chain is a formidable opportunity for young people and companies.

Why betting on this model means investing in the competitive future of our system?

“Bergamo requires more than 20,000 qualified technical profiles every year. However, the mismatch between demand and supply represents a crucial challenge. Projects such as the Bergamo ITS Campus, the Job Festival and the ongoing collaboration with the University of Bergamo are some of the most promising actions aimed at bridging this gap, offering young people innovative training paths and companies the skills they need to face the future with the competitiveness required by the markets.

At NTS too, we believe in the synergy between training and the world of work: not only do we invest in technological innovation, but we are also protagonists in the promotion of educational initiatives that focus on the values of human and professional growth, for which we bring on board at least 6 or 7 young people each year between ITS, curricular and extracurricular internships.

Would you like to discover all the details and learn more about technical training and opportunities for young people and businesses?

The importance of building

pmi day

What do young students say when they meet NTS for the first time?

During the SME Day we opened the doors of our company to young students and, in return, we received something precious: the thoughts, impressions and emotions of girls and boys who had this experience with us.

On our feedback board, one word stands out above all others: Building. A word that goes beyond the theme of the day, becoming a concept that tells the future: an orientation on which skills, opportunities and new job prospects to focus on and start training.

Thanks to all the students and their professors for choosing to participate, for their enthusiasm and curiosity, but above all for the confirmation that the future is built today, together, each in his or her own role.

Each meeting is an opportunity for growth, for them and for us.

Follow us to stay updated on our initiatives.
